Milestone Member Spotlight // Bos Todd

We have a wonderful story to share with you about our amazing member, Bos Todd. Bos completed the “Fight for Air Climb," a fund raising event hosted by the American Lung Association on February 1st.  What makes this such an amazing accomplishment is that Bos is 83 years old (will be 84 in 2 weeks!) and was the oldest participant in the whole competition!

Bos climbed 780 stairsthat's 38 floors!

The Fight for Air Climb took place at the National City Tower in downtown Louisville.  The event is a fundraiser for people who have been diagnosed with Lung Cancer, COPD and Asthma and helps raise money for research and advocacy for cleaner air.  Many area fire departments also participated in this event because so many are affected by pulmonary illnesses due to smoke inhalation.

Bos has worked in the National City Tower since 1973 on the 31st floor.  So, he knows the building well.  He tries to walk the stairs to his office at least twice a week—a goal put in place for him by his Milestone Personal Trainer of 9 years, Brenna Tomlinson.  Bos said his motivation for competing in this challenge was

“The pride in knowing I could accomplish this at my age.”

And, Bos says he'd love to do it again!

Thank you for your amazing efforts to FIGHT FOR AIR and climb for those who suffer from lung cancer, those who struggle to breathe because of air pollution, those whose Asthma makes the simple act of breathing difficult, and for those that can't breathe on their own.

We are SO proud of you, Bos!
